念司徒、运策巧施为，志挽汉家天。
借貂蝉娇貌，离间董吕，机变藏奸。
谈笑风云际会，忠义腹中镌。

虽有兴衰荣辱，任后人评说，心向坤乾。
忆朝堂之上，凛凛正衣冠。
想当时、谋深似海，定邦危、何惧险途艰。
英名在、史传功绩，岁月长镌。

刚直谋断愿难伸，辅弼陈公念未泯。
误信奸雄兴浩叹，空怀壮志付埃尘。
审时妙策皆能用，择主忠言竟不遵。
乱世孤臣徒怅望，英魂千古韵长存。

博学多才书史彰，焦桐绿绮韵悠扬。
惜怜一叹招灾祸，忠孝难全泣异乡。

Lament for Cai Yong
Profoundly learned and multi-talented, his achievements in history
and calligraphy are manifest.
The resonant tunes of his paulownia-wood zither and lute linger.
Alas, a single sigh led to misfortune.
Unable to fulfill both loyalty and filial piety, he wept in a foreign land.
